The Show That Broke Broadway's Mold

Rock of Ages brought in audiences who had never bought a Broadway ticket before. NFL players took cameos, the cast performed at the NY Giants' Super Bowl parade and the NFL Thanksgiving halftime show, and ESPN's Skip Bayless called it "the show that rocked the sports world and America." All My Rowdy Friends is built on the same idea.

Rock of Ages — The Movie

The 2012 film adaptation — starring Tom Cruise, Julianne Hough, Russell Brand, and Alec Baldwin — proved the IP's staying power well beyond the stage, reaching a global audience that never set foot in a theater.

An All My Rowdy Friends film adaptation is currently in development — the next chapter in an IP built for every screen.

Chris D'Arienzo wrote Rock of Ages. Now he's bringing the same instinct to Country Music.

A Nashville Tragedy

The Show

Heart, Humor & Country Music

A loose adaptation of William Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing, set during the 2019 NFL Draft in Nashville, Tennessee, the self-proclaimed Bachelorette Party Capital of the World.

Told through a song catalogue of the greatest country artists of all time, All My Rowdy Friends follows a bachelorette party whose weekend gets overrun by a sea of rowdy football dudes.

And the ghosts of past loves and heartache.

The Inspiration

When Two Worlds Collide

Inspired by the real 2019 NFL Draft weekend, when hundreds of bachelorette parties arrived in Nashville with absolutely no idea Lower Broadway was about to be invaded by 600,000 football fans, resulting in the most rowdy weekend the city has ever seen.

It even made the news:

Our Setting

A Honky Tonk on Fair Lower Broadway

Edgar Calhoun's Songbird Lounge

A live music stage, a mechanical bull, walls covered floor-to-ceiling in memorabilia, and a legendary bartender. The Songbird Lounge is where the show lives.

Chris D'Arienzo

Book Writer

Best known as the book writer of the Tony-nominated rock musical Rock of Ages, as well as the screenwriter and executive producer of its film adaptation starring Tom Cruise. He also wrote and directed the feature film Barry Munday, selected as a "Spotlight Premiere" at the 2010 SXSW Film Festival and screened at the Edinburgh and Newport film festivals, where he won an award for Outstanding Filmmaking.

In Rock of Ages, D'Arienzo merged his passion for '80s rock and musical storytelling — crafting the narrative and selecting many of the classic rock songs that drive the show's energy. Beyond Rock of Ages, he is actively developing Save Us, Batkid! for Warner Brothers and DC Comics, with Michael Mayer directing and Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day composing. D'Arienzo's work bridges musical theater and film, reflecting his creative versatility and deep engagement with both narrative and song.
